The Association For Bilingualism in Cyprus organized an event under the topics of “Literature and Translation” this past Friday night at the Home for Cooperation.
The relationship between literature and translation was considered and the role of translation was touched upon regarding the resettlement of the belles-lettres into the public.
While it was observed that when the belles-lettres were resettled into publics such as Cyprus where there are problems within it, it affected the reconciliation and peace process positively, it was also noted that the communities through literature found an opportunity to communicated better with each other and understand each other’s sadness and happiness’ and empathy was created.
The event which was attended by literature enthusiasts was attended by Nafia Akdeniz, Gürgenç Korkmazel and Andreas Chrysanthou as speakers.
The speakers expressed their views on the relationship between literature and translation to the attendees.
At the end of the event the attendees and speakers found the opportunity to speak to each other during a cocktail.
